Barcode Scanner

I went to the grocery store to pick up food to eat. After I buy the food that I need I pull in line in the counter to checkout. While waiting I observed the cashier how she swipe the barcode in the barcode scanners. It really helps the transaction to be fast and quick. I just wonder if there’s no barcode scanners maybe I waiting for so long.
